Who

WeirdOwl Games is an independent studio in Norway. For privacy questions, write to contact@weirdowl.site.

The game on your device

Space Beads keeps your progress and settings on the device you play on. That includes which levels you have opened, and choices such as sound, fullscreen, and whether play stats are on. That file is not uploaded.

Play stats

If stats are on, the game sends a short anonymous note when you start a level, finish it, die, or leave. The note contains:

• the event (start, complete, death, or abandon)
• where you are playing (Windows, Android, or the web build)
• whether it was an intro, a campaign level, or a custom level, and the level number
• how long the attempt lasted, how many moves, and how many deaths
• the game version, and the time the note arrived

These notes are used to see which levels people finish, leave, or die on, so the campaign can be tuned. They are not a player database. They do not include your name, email, Steam account, advertising id, or a device id. They are deleted after 90 days.

Stats are on until you turn them off. In the game menu, switch STATS ON to STATS OFF. That choice stays on your device. After that, no further notes are sent.

Steam

If you play through Steam, Valve runs your Steam account, your purchase, your playtime, and any achievements you unlock. That data stays with Valve under the Steam Privacy Policy. WeirdOwl does not receive your Steam name, email, friends list, or payment details.

This website

The contact form asks for your name, email, and message, so a reply can be sent. Those messages are stored by the site host, Netlify, and read by WeirdOwl. The site does not use advertising cookies or a tracking profile.

Discord level maker

The maker at weirdowl.site/maker is optional and separate from playing the game. Logging in uses Discord. Discord tells us your user id, display name, and whether you are in the WeirdOwl server with access to the maker. A login cookie lasts 7 days and is only used to keep that session.

If you submit a level, we store the level, your Discord id, and your Discord name so it can be reviewed. A note is also posted in the Weird Owl Discord. You can ask for a submission to be deleted.

What we do not do

We do not sell personal information. We do not use it for advertising. We do not share it with data brokers.

Children

Space Beads is not made for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe we have, write to contact@weirdowl.site and it will be deleted.

Your requests

Write to contact@weirdowl.site to ask about, correct, or delete a contact message or a maker submission. Play-stat notes are not tied to a person, so a single player's notes cannot be looked up. For data Valve holds about your Steam account, use Steam's own privacy tools.
